Aluminum profiles ship cut to 4 ft lengths so the kit travels as a normal parcel.
Each section uses at most one 5 m reel. Keep section ends electrically separate, even when mounted next to each other. Use at most 3 m of extension cable per section plus a 0.5 m supply-to-controller link.
An 8 mm strip needs a channel wider than 8 mm, and the diffuser has to match the profile it clips into. We pair them for you rather than leaving it to a spec sheet.
Every section gets a matching-voltage supply rated for at least twice its design load. For 8 mm Free Cut, the documented 10% power tolerance is included: one 5 m section is designed for 55 W and gets a 200 W supply.
One supply and controller per 5 m reel. Keep every section electrically separate; never connect separate supply outputs through a continuous strip. Multiple controllers can be grouped in Tuya Smart.
Follow the approved section plan and the component instructions. Kits needing expert review are planning estimates, not approved installation instructions. Use a qualified installer for AC connections.
Use a dry, ventilated indoor location, 0 to 30 C. Each section has its own supply and controller and contains at most one 5 m reel. Separate and insulate all section ends; never connect independent DC outputs or feed a continuous strip from separate supplies. Longer leads or other operating conditions require a new design.
Confirm the exact Free Cut product and its supplier instructions before trimming. Cut square without damaging copper contacts. Label each section for its own controller. Profiles ship as 4 ft pieces plus their remainders; trim and deburr the final piece as needed.
Mount the profile securely, then press the strip into the clean channel. Keep separate section ends insulated even when they are visually adjacent. Leave diffusers off until the individual sections have been tested.
With power disconnected, connect supply to controller, then controller to its strip section. Use at most 3 m of 18 AWG extension and a 0.5 m supply-to-controller link. For the 8 mm bridge, retain one strip connector and cut/strip the opposite wire end; join its 22 AWG tails to the 18 AWG cable with one supplied E-CON-2P-C per conductor. Match pad and terminal labels, not wire colors. Set the controller to single-color mode. Never join outputs between sections.
Have the AC connections checked, then test one section at a time for correct polarity and operation. If a section is dim or does not work, disconnect power and check it against the approved plan. Do not add a second supply to its far end. Use Tuya Smart on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to group controllers; app grouping does not connect their DC circuits.
