The S-E27-E40 is a socket adapter that converts an E40 mogul-base fixture to accept an E27 medium-base lamp. It is intended for commercial and industrial applications where retrofitting or relamping with a different base type is required, eliminating the need for fixture rewiring or replacement. The adapter is rated at 220 V with a 2-3 A current range and carries an ABS shell rated for a working temperature of 80 °C.
